Restrained

Once in a while, your players will find themselves stuck. Chained up? Gummed in webs? Tangled in magical briars? They have a condition called “Restrained” and this is what it means for an adventurer:

  • Their Speed is zero.

  • Attack rolls against them have Advantage, and their attack rolls have Disadvantage.

  • They have Disadvantage on Dexterity Saving Throws.

Restraint usually results from a failed Saving Throw. The character can usually retry that Saving Throw at the end of each of their turns. The text of the adventure, the spell, or monster stat block, will describe how the player can end the Restrained condition.
