Actions in Combat
Ok - everyone has Rolled for Initiative; now what? One round of combat is six seconds of in-world game time, and everyone involved in combat gets a turn. Start with the highest Initiative total and work your way through all the monsters and players. On their turn, each adventurer gets a Movement and an Action.
Movement
Adventurers can move in combat up to their Speed, as indicated on their character sheet - typically 30’ per turn. This can happen before an action, after an action, or split up between before and after. Check your character sheet for your individual character’s movement.
Action
Every turn, a character can take an action. They can use their action to attack with a weapon, cast a single spell, dash (gaining another movement), activate a magic item, or use a Skill or Ability. It’s important to keep your players to a single action every turn.
Bonus Actions and Reactions
Some players and monsters have abilities that give them an additional mini-action during their turn, such as a fighter’s extra attack with an off-hand weapon. Bonus actions are always called out specifically on our character sheets.
